Workshop “Slovenia-a Logistics Platform for Central and South Eastern Europe” [Report]
Last April 2018, we organized a workshop and a series of B2B meetings to support a Slovenian transport and logistics trade mission to Japan. The mission consisted of a group of seven top Slovenian logistics service providers and was led by Spirit Slovenia, the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.
Slovenia is a major logistics platform for flows of goods directed to Central, South Eastern Europe and Balkan markets. The mission aimed to further develop cooperation between Slovenian logistics and supply companies and relevant Japanese business partners.
The activities were successfully held. The Slovenian delegates had the opportunity to address a large audience of approximately 100 Japanese companies during the workshop as well as to hold many one-to-one talks with selected Japanese companies both during the prearranged B2B sessions and the networking business lunch. We have approached about 200 domestic companies in transportation, logistics and trading company which has a possibility of becoming a business partner in the future, and appointments with 50 companies were achieved.
All the stages of the activities were facilitated and supervised by our experienced staff who was also involved in the preparatory activities ahead of the event.
A number of institutions and organizations locally based, such as the Japan External Trade Organization – JETRO, represented by Mr. Washizawa and the Slovenian Embassy in Tokyo also actively participated in the activities. H.E. Madam Leskovar, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Tokyo gave a remarkable presentation of the Slovenian industry’s capacity as well as of the many opportunities and areas of convergence between the two markets.
Following the event, we have received a very positive feedback from the Slovenian organizations and the companies we had the pleasure to work for. We would like to thank them publicly one by one for their professionalism and kind cooperation.
