Participation of the Iowa Economic Development Authority at the Midwest U.S.-Japan 55th Conference and Business Meetings with Japanese Companies[Report]

As the Japan office representing the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), our company supported the participation of Mr. Allen Williams, Business Development Manager, in the Midwest U.S.-Japan 55th Conference held from September 7–9, 2025, at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. In addition to arranging Mr. Williams’ participation, we coordinated the Iowa booth during the conference, providing Japanese companies with information on the advantages of investing in Iowa.
To maximize the value of Mr. Williams’ visit, our team prepared a longlist of potential investment partners in advance and arranged meetings with nine prominent Japanese corporations, including three companies already operating in Iowa. These meetings included leading companies from industries such as heavy machinery, chemicals, food manufacturing, logistics equipment, and financial services. Through these discussions, we were able to confirm each company’s approach and strategic perspectives regarding U.S. investment, while also presenting Iowa’s strengths as a prime U.S. investment destination.

Engagements such as these create meaningful opportunities for Japanese corporations to learn more about Iowa’s business climate and advantages for expansion in the U.S. market. By continuing to provide careful and detailed support, we aim to strengthen our track record and encourage Japanese companies to choose Iowa as their location for new investments and future business growth.
Note: The Midwest U.S.-Japan Association consists of ten states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
